Hotel Casa Noble, is the site of an aristocratic mansion from the XVII Century in the heart of the VERY NOBLE AND LOYAL CITY OF SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS DE GOATHEMALA, name given to La Antigua Guatemala, by King Charles III of Spain, known as the King Architect, for relocating the Court in Madrid and beautifying the city, as well as lending his support to various American capitals to follow its example. Under his influence, La Antigua Guatemala became one of the most beautiful cities in America and even today, it's famous for its stately and outstanding unique architecture.
However, his ship was lost at sea. Doña Amelia was distraught and swore she would never marry. In memory of her beloved she built a fountain dedicated to the Virgin Mary, which depicts a beautiful medallion with the emblem of "Ave María Regina". This fountain was decorated daily with exotic tropical flowers brought by her indian servants from the unexplored Guatemalan tropical rainforest, honoring Doña Amelia's fiancee. La casa original que hoy alberga a Hotel Casa Noble, es conocida no sólo por su belleza sino también por la leyenda de amor que guarda entre sus paredes y que rememora el hermoso búcaro que la distingue; cuentan que allí vivió Doña Amelia Zúñiga de la Cueva, hermosa doncella prometida en matrimonio a un Oidor del Reino, quien marchó a España jurando volver para contraer nupcias con ella.
